Collectorlog

Chapter 11 of 12

Common errors and limits

What common errors usually mean, what to check first, and where to go next.

Most errors have a short message in the app. The lists below tell you what the message usually means, what to check first, and where to go next.

Sign-in and verification

  • "Email is already in use" — the address has a Collectorlog account. Try signing in, or reset the password.
  • "Verification link invalid or expired" — request a new link from the sign-in page. Links are time-limited on purpose.
  • "Too many attempts, try again shortly" — rate limiting. Wait a minute and retry; do not refresh repeatedly.

Vault and images

  • "Record limit reached" — your plan's Vault capacity is full. Upgrade the plan or archive records you no longer track.
  • "Image upload failed" — check the file type (JPG/PNG) and size. Records have a per-item image cap that varies by plan.
  • "Empty view" vs "Couldn't load" — an empty Vault or Wishlist is not an error. A genuine load failure shows a retry button.

Sharing and WTS

  • "This share is unavailable" — the owner disabled sharing or the record no longer exists.
  • "Can't publish WTS" — a precondition is missing. See Publishing a Want to Sell listing for the full list.

Activation Codes

  • "Code not recognized" — double-check for typos, especially 0/O and 1/l/I.
  • "Code already used" — Activation Codes can be redeemed once.
  • "Code expired" or "Code belongs to another account" — the code was issued under different terms. Contact the source that provided it.

Quotas

Each plan has its own limits for Vault records, Wishlist entries, images per record, and advanced features. When you approach a limit, Collectorlog highlights which quota is affected. The Plans chapter compares the four tiers.
